DeShawn Collins was born and raised in Seattle, Washington. She is an original Seattleite but did adventure off to the Southern states for 15 years but recently returned home to the great Northwest in 2015.
She started her legal career in the state of Washington. She has over 25 years of civil litigation experience with some criminal defense experience. DeShawn received her Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies and obtained her Juris Doctorate Degree in Law. She then continued her education and advanced law certification by obtaining her LLM Degree in Compliance and Risk Management.
She is a speaker and advocate for the Alzheimer’s Association, advocate for social justice and its causes throughout the United States, as well as an active member at her local church.
DeShawn is a published author of two books “Finding Strength in Your New Normal” and “The Called Young”.
She enjoys running, hiking, and writing. Her nickname is Turbo. Her future desire is to make a significant impact as to the care of Alzheimer’s and dementia.
